Reminder: tomorrow, Nolly Babes & Black Life present Highway to the Grave
Join us at BAMPFA for a screening of a Nollywood classic and a discussion Saturday 10/29 at 7pm
Tomorrow night, we’re thrilled to be screening Teco Benson’s 1998 Nollywood thriller, Highway to the Grave. For a taste and a teaser, here’s the film’s trailer uploaded by the Nolly Babes themselves, a stellar duo of archivists of Nollywood’s golden era at the turn of the millennium.
Following the film, we’ll screen a 30 minute conversation between Black Life co-curator ruth gebreyesus and Tochi and Ebele Anueyiagu of Nolly Babes. You can purchase your tickets here. We’ll also be giving away risograph posters to attendees designed by past Black Life resident Sasha Kelley and printed by BAMPFA’s Art Lab:
As always, we reserve a set amount of free tickets that we joyfully offer to Black Life’s extended community of Black and brown filmmakers, artists, creators, and curious viewers. We encourage you to send a request for a ticket with your full name to blackblacklifelife@gmail.com by tomorrow at 2pm.
take good care & see you in the theater,
ruth + Ryanaustin
