Today at 4:30pm: Darol Olu Kae Visual Mix Screening and Conversation
Streaming on Locally Grown TV begining 4:30pm Pacific
Please do join us this afternoon as Black Life resident guest artist Darol Olu Kae presents a luxurious two hour live screening followed by a conversation with Black Life co-curator Ruth Gebreyesus. Kae has spent time wandering around the Pacific Film Archive and has selected excerpts from the archive along with other works that dive into experimental and mundane. Expect conversation excerpts from Angela Davis, Jonas Mekas and Les Blank alongside works by Shirley Clarke, Jean-Luc Godard and others.
We’re thrilled to host this screening and conversation on Locally Grown TV and you can tune in directly at 4:30pm Pacific here.
See you soon & keep an eye out in the Locally Grown TV chat for a chance to receive a special poster set from this event and Kae’s Sunday night radio transmission featuring the legendary Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra with Mekala Session and Jamire Williams.
